Guidelines for authors
1. General Information
- Scope: Padmakanya Journal of Science and Technology (PJST) publishes original research, reviews, short notes and letter to the editor related to the areas of aspects of general and applied sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Computer Science, Information technology and other.
- Language: All submissions must be in English. Authors are encouraged to provide the abstract in Nepali language (optional).
2. Manuscript Types
- Original Research Articles: Should not exceed 7,000 words (including references, figures, and tables).
- Review Articles: Up to 8,000 words.
- Short Communications: Maximum of 3,000 words.
- Letters to the Editor: Maximum of 1,500 words.
3. Structure of the Manuscript
- Title Page: Includes the title, author names affiliations and corresponding author's contact details. Please limit to maximum of two affiliation per authors. Contact details of the corresponding authors should contain
- Abstract: Not exceeding 250–300 words summarizing the background, rationale, methods, results, and conclusions.
- Keywords: 4–6 keywords that reflect the content of the manuscript.
- Main Text: Should contain Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion and conclusion.
- Acknowledgments: Credit any funding sources or contributions.
- Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- References: List all the articles cited in text in alphabetical order.

Journal article with single author:
Citation: (Surname, year) or Surname (year) || For example: (Shakya, 2013) or Shakya (2013)
Reference: Surname, initials (date). Title, Name of Journal, Volume (issue), Page, doi

Journal article with two authors:

4. Figures and Tables
- Figures: High-resolution images (minimum 300 dpi). Numbered and referred to in the text in order of appearance.
- Tables: Should be numbered consecutively. Include clear headings and footnotes where necessary.
- Captions: Provide a caption for each figure and table. Each captions of table and figure should be self-explanatory.
5. Formatting Guidelines
- Font: Use a standard font like Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Line Spacing: Double-spaced throughout the manuscript.
- Margins: 1-inch margins on all sides.
- File Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format or Rich Text Format (RTF).
6. Submission Process

- Blind Review: Ensure anonymity by removing author details from the manuscript for peer review.
- Response Time: Authors will receive initial decision within one week of the notice (desk rejection, minor correction before review, or forwarded for peer review).
7. Ethical Considerations
- Originality: Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Plagiarism: Submissions will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.
- Use of AI: Any use of Artificial Intelligence should be declared in the manuscript file. The use of the AI should not compromise human creativity.
- Ethical Approval: For studies involving human or animal subjects, appropriate ethical approvals must be obtained and included.
8. Review Process
- All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review process.
- Authors will receive feedback from at least one independent reviewer.
9. Open Access Policy
All the articles accepted for publication will be published under the Creative Commons License.
10. Article Processing Charge (APC)
APC will not be charged to the authors. Padmakanya Multiple Campus will cover all the costs related to APC.
11. Endogeny:
Current editor or editorial board member cannot be listed as an author in the journal article.
